Girls soccer: Ones to watch  From the Dayton Daily News

Stacey Lucas, sr., Wayne: Forward was third-team D-I All-Ohio as sophomore when she scored 22 goals. First team all-area and GWOC East last season.


Katie Davies, jr., Xenia: Besides being a two-year starter and two-time All-GWOC honoree, midfielder has experience in U.S. Olympic Development Program. Arguably the area's best player regardless of position.


Abigail Griest, sr., Northwestern: One of the Miami Valley's top defenders. Was D-II East all-area player of the year.


Kelly Blumenschein, jr., Beavercreek: Lightning-fast forward was first team GWOC East and D-I South all-area.


Aubree Thomas, jr., Northmont: Defender was third team D-I All-Ohio and first team D-I all-area and GWOC West.


Heather Harrison, jr., Xenia: One of three Xenia juniors who were first team GWOC East last season. Poised for break-out year as a scorer.


Linley Vermillion, jr., Northmont: Goalie was first team GWOC West last year after recording nine shutouts. Is three-year starter.


Ashley Amburgy, sr., Greeneview: Forward was first team D-II East all-area last season after netting 18 goals.
