Skeeter's goals put Fairmont over top  From the Dayton Daily News

Lamar Skeeter scored all three goals as Fairmont defeated Lebanon, 3-0, Wednesday night in the semifinals of the Division I, Dayton 1 boys high school soccer tournament.


Skeeter has 26 goals for the Firebirds, with Corey Whisenhut providing two assists.


The is the third straight year the 15-0-3 Firebirds have reached the district final. They will host Northmont in the district final Saturday night.


Fairmont 3, Lebanon 0

  • Goals: 1. Skeeter (Whisenhunt); 2. Skeeter (Schairbaum); 3. Skeeter (Whisenhunt).

  • Records: Fairmont 15-0-3; Lebanon 13-5-1.

  • Northmont 3, Stebbins 0: Matthew Spirk had a goal and an assist while Nick Pahren and Glenn Snorf added the other goals for the 14-4-0 Thunderbolts. They lost to Fairmont, 2-1, in second game of the regular season

  • Goals: 1. Spirk (Elder); 2. Pahren; 3. Snorf (Spirk).

  • Records: Northmont 14-4; Stebbins 9-8-2.

  • Beavercreek 1, Wayne 0: The win puts the 11-3-4 Beavers in the D-I, Dayton 2 district final Saturday night at Centerville. Noah Zimmerlin scored the only goal of the match with 20 minutes remaining.

  • Goals: 1. Noah Zimmerlin.

  • Records: Beavercreek 11-3-4; Wayne 10-7-1.

  • Centerville 7, Tecumseh 0: Braden Bishop scored the first three goals for the 15-2-1 Elks. This was their fourth consecutive shut out.

  • Goals: 1. Bishop (Spires); 2. Bishop; 3. Bishop (Snell); 4. Spires; 5. Armacost (Maxi); 6. Holding (Brown); 7. Zembower.

  • Records: Centerville 15-2-1; Tecumseh 14-4-0.

  • Carroll 9, Franklin 0: The 17-1-0 Patriots will get a chance to avenge their only loss of the season when they host Alter Saturday night in the finals of the Division II, Dayton 1 district final. Jeff Popella was in on five of the goals, scoring two himself and adding three assists. Tyler Berry had four goals and two assists and Andrew Karmele a goal and an assist. Alter, a 2-1 winner of Bellbrook in the other Dayton 1 semi, stopped Carroll in the regular season, 3-2.

  • Goals: 1. Popella (Berry); 2. Berry (Popella); 3. Berry (Karmele); 4. Berry (Penrod); 5. Karmele (Popella); 6. Koesters (Heider); 7. Berry; 8. Christoff (Popella); 9. Popella (Berry).

  • Records: Carroll 17-1-0; Franklin 3-13-2.

  • Tippecanoe 1, Greenon 0: The Red Devils (13-3-2) will be at Northwestern in the D-II, Dayton 2 district final Saturday at 2 p.m. Mike Porto had the only goal of the match on a penalty kick with 3:50 remaining. Tipp's Edgar Rendon had his legs taken out from under him by a Greenon player while going up for a head ball which drew a card.

  • Goals: 1. Porto.

  • Records: Tippecanoe 13-3-2; Greenon 9-9-1.

  • Northwestern 4, Kenton Ridge 1: Jake Gullett had a goal and assist for the 14-3-1 Warriors, who are meeting Tipp for the second straight year in the district final.

  • Goals: 1. Kiger (N) (Angle); 2. Gullett (N) (Finnegan); 3. Johnson (N) (Wickline); 4. Hope (Gullett); 5. Eaton (KR) (Toth).

  • Records: Northwestern 14-3-1; Kenton Ridge 9-5-4.
